Something magic happens when talented, ambitious, and creative people come together to let their ideas run wild. I experienced it firsthand after founding Optimum College from my home office. What began as a simple idea for a new kind of independent college quickly went viral on TikTok, becoming the most-followed college on the platform. Watching artists, musicians, programmers, entrepreneurs, and creators unite around a shared mission, to "explore life, the Universe & everything to reach our optimum potential", led me to one question: What can we achieve together?

 

Welcome to Optimum College—a new kind of online community where your ideas become reality.

 

Optimum is not a college as you might think of one. Derrick Mains, the Emmy winning host of The Convergence Podcast, called Optimum College a return to Plato's academic ideals and in many ways that is accurate. At Optimum College we have no classes, semesters, homework, lectures, credits, or even "students." Instead, we are a network of members — 18-years and older, who collaborate, innovate, and support each other's journeys toward realizing their optimum potential.

How It Works:

• Online Collaboration on the Cutting Edge: Our members & mentors collaborate through our private forums and video-chats to sharpen their ideas, visions & projects to achieve their optimum potential.

• Monthly Project Funding: Every week, paying members vote to fund one fellow member's idea through the Optimum Fund, which is funded entirely by membership fees. Funding is a gift, not an investment. You keep 100% ownership of your ideas and projects. Each member contributes $12.50 per week to the fund from their $30 weekly membership fee. So, for example, With 100 members, that's $1,250 awarded every week ($5,000 per month). As our community grows, so does our ability to fund bigger ideas: 1,000 members means $12,500 awarded per week ($50,000 per month); 10,000 members means $125,000 awarded per week ($500,000 per month); and beyond. The bigger our community, the bigger the ideas we can turn into reality. Past and current projects include the first classic fighting game for virtual reality, the development of sports fitness equipment used by NFL champion teams, the first simulation of the 4 forces of physics from 1 equation, and more.

• Success Multiplied: Members who successfully turn their ideas into reality are encouraged, but never required, to give back at least 10% to the Optimum College community in whatever way they believe will have the greatest positive impact. Maybe that means becoming an angel investor to our membership, maybe that means hiring from our pool of members, maybe that means opening doors, or giving gifts and donations. Simply: when we lift each other up, success multiplies.

• A Career Not Just a College: At Optimum College, we recognize that every person has something to teach and something to learn no matter their background. For example, you might have no formal education but you learned how to compose music, or draw, or make videos or games. At the very least you can always teach people about your unique perspective. Because those roles of "teacher and student" are constantly evolving, we simply say that every member is capable of both. And so while traditional colleges reserve paid teaching positions for a small number of professors, at Optimum College, every member has the opportunity to earn by introducing new members into the community. For each active member you personally enroll in Optimum College, you'll receive $12.50 per week ($50 per month) in recurring income as long as they remain a member of Optimum College. So, for example, if you build a community of 100 active members at Optimum College you earn $1,250 per week in recurring income; $5,000 per month; $60,000 per year. That's means Optimum is not just a college, it's a potential career. And there is no limit to how large your community at Optimum College can grow or how many lives you can help transform. If you build a community of  community of 1,000 active members generates $12,500 per week—more than $600,000 annually. There is no limit to how large your community can grow or how many lives you can help transform. By helping others unlock their potential, you can create a career built on education, community, and opportunity.​​​

• Certified Success: Members who turn their ideas into finished projects, with or without Optimum funding, become Certified Optimists. You'll receive an official certification, personalized letters of recommendation, and an invitation to share your ideas, projects & vision with the world on our Optimum Podcast.​
